Redmond’s forced rollout phase for Windows 11 23H2 was announced this week, following the automatic update to Windows 12 H2 on systems running multiple versions of the operating system on October 11th, when support for those systems came to an end.
Microsoft regularly starts automatic feature updates as part of a process to keep servicing devices close to their EOS date and offer the most recent updates, security patches, and improvements.
A new rollout phase has begun for” Windows 11, version 23H2, also referred to as the Windows 11 2023 Update.” According to Microsoft, we are beginning to automatically update compatible Windows 11 devices to version 23H2.
” This automatic update follows the machine learning-based ( ML) training we have used so far and targets Windows 11 devices that have reached or are nearing the end of servicing.”
To provide a seamless update experience, we will keep training our intelligent ML model to roll out this new Windows version in phases.
On October 31, one month after Windows 11, version 23H2 ( also referred to as the Windows 11 2023 Update ) began being made available to Insiders for enterprise testing in the Release Preview Channel, the company made the announcement.
An enablement package (eKB ) is used in the Windows 11 23H2 update process to activate features that have already been shipped in earlier 22H2-updates but are still unactivated.
The Windows Copilot digital assistant, File Explorer, Dynamic Lighting support, an improved volume mixer, and a revised Windows Spotlight experience are among the new features included with the Windows 11 2023 Update.
