WORKFORCE DEVELOPMENT WITH OPPORTUNITY FOR CYBERSECURITY EDUCATION
The National Institute of Standards and Technology ( NIST ) has released a new Notice of Funding Opportunity ( NOFO ) today at the annual NICE Conference &, Expo. Rodney Petersen is the director of that organization.  ,
NIST is once more providing funding to create Regional Alliances and Multistakeholder Partnerships to Stimulate (RAMPS) cybersecurity education and workforce development after a successful pilot and nbsp program in 2016. The NIST-led NICE program will be supported by RAMPS as part of the Department of Commerce’s Principles for Highly Effective Workforce Investments and Good Jobs.  ,
Employers and educators will be brought together in successful partnerships to create a skilled workforce that can meet local or regional economic needs. Through cooperative agreements, NIST anticipates providing up to eighteen awards totaling$ 200,000 in funding.
Letters of commitment must be used by applicants to show that at least one of the following organizations has vowed to join the suggested regional alliance:
- a nonprofit training organization or higher education institution, and
- critical infrastructure’s local employer, owner, or operator.
