Workshop on Assurance Data Standards and CHIPS Semiconductor Supply Chain Trust
The Semiconductor Supply Chain Trust and Assurance Data Standards Workshop will take place on April 2, 2024, at the NIST National Cybersecurity Center of Excellence (NCCoE ) conference facility in Rockville, Maryland, from 8:30 a.m. to 5:30 o’clock in the evening, and from 8:30 am to 12:30 p’m on that date.
This hybrid event lasts for one and a half days and gives attendees the chance to network and share ideas. To determine community priorities for particular standards efforts, technical experts from industry, academia, standards-setting organizations, and industry alliances will gather at this event.
The workshop aims to promote innovation, coordination, and collaboration within the standards community for the semiconductor industry.
Key transactions, such as the acquisition of raw materials, design, layout, tape-out, mask making, chip fabrication, testing, packaging, and assembly, are recorded as data in various digital twin ecosystem modules as semiconductor products are produced.
For traceability, authentication, and provenance tracking, the digital twin modules must be connected to one another in order for these ecosystems to be able to access the accumulated supply chain data.
In a secure, decentralized authentication environment that is accessible to all supply chain participants in the electronics manufacturing industry, participants will talk about the digital twin and data standard requirements.
Potential for broad impact, viability of accelerated development, and suitability for various standards development channels, such as alliances, incubators and accelerators as well as standards-setting organizations, should all be taken into account when determining standards priorities.
Plenary, panel, and interactive breakout sessions will be included in the workshop. Future data interoperability standards activities are expected to be shaped by participants ‘ collaboration and discussion of important issues and subjects. The following are just a few of the questions that will be taken into account:
- What does “digital twin” mean technically, and what does the semiconductor industry’s corresponding framework look like?
- What kinds of data are crucial for semiconductor supply chain digital twins?
- Exist any current standards for these data types?
- Is data interoperability between digital twin modules necessary?
- What standards are required to achieve that interoperability, if any?
- Exist any standards for managing and securely sharing data between supply chain assurance digital twin modules?
Key findings will be included in a post-workshop report, which will also help the CHIPS R&, D Office and the semiconductor innovation ecosystem plan standards.
